Mr. Bruce Whitehead, President
W. S. Adamson and Associates175 West 200 South, Suite 3003
Salt Lake City, Utah 84101Dear Bruce:After 23 years of responsibility for Ryder System's worldwide public relations, I've taken early retirement, and I'm now working with a young friend to try and build Smartlntranet into a viable intranet software and consulting business. But before I fade into the sunset, I want to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated working over many of my years at Ryder with W. S. Adamson. You may recall that we got acquainted with your firm through a recommendation from Hill & Knowlton, which was then Ryder's New York PR firm. Ryder's CEO had agreed to sponsor part of a performance of the Utah Symphony, and a group of the company's management was going to Salt Lake City for the event. With all that happening, we needed someone's help to get credit for what we were doing and to make appropriate arrangements for our group. H & K put us in touch, and it was a good thing. You made me a hero. After that, W. S. Adamson became Ryder's Utah PR Department, and I have nothing but very positive memories of everything we worked on together. Your access to Utah media was always superb; your advice on what to do in every situation was always on target; and, best of all, every member of your staff was consistently professional and pleasant to deal with. I couldn't have asked for more. Come to think of it, putting Ryder in touch with W. S. Adamson and Associates may have been the best thing Hill and Knowlton did for us. -Thanks for all the good work and help. It's been great working with you.
