To: Whom It May Concern:
From: John Parkyn, Chairman of Private Fuel Storage LLC
RE: Performance of W. S. Adamson and Associates, Inc. on Nuclear IssuesI am writing this letter of recommendation as an evaluation of the performance of this firm in handling our very sensitive nuclear licensing issue.
As you are aware, PFS is the only major licensing effort within the nuclear industry in over a decade. We knew that the opposition of political figures would make keeping the public informed of the actual facts, a high priority.
After much resource evaluation and a false start, we chose Adamson & Assoc. because of their past record, staff capability and attitude.
They have performed in a very good manner for us. They are willing to stand in their local community as the advocates for the largest spent nuclear fuel storage facility in national history and not flinch. They are good learners, even though they have worked with other projects that deal with hazardous materials, nuclear energy is different.
They have worked with focus groups, politicians, the general public and industry groups to broaden support and explain the real facts. They have worked with our member utilities to draw in knowledge and ideas. I instituted a PR contact matrix and they hosted very ably the periodic meetings of this national group. Frankly, they are professional at what they do and realize that all of us have budgets. I do not recall a single instance of failure to meet deadlines.I would recommend them without hesitation and invite you to call me at any time.
Sincerely yours,![]()
