 W.S. "Bill" Adamson,
a nationally recognized pioneer in the public relations field,
founded the company in 1950. It is one of Utah's first corporate
public relations counseling firms.
From the beginning, Adamson and Associates carved a niche
in the natural resources industries. Our experience in the
extractive and processing industries ranges from copper and
its by-products to Gilsonite, phosphates, potash, uranium,
coal, oil and natural gas, gold, silver, zinc, lead, carbon
dioxide and related industries providing engineering, technical
and equipment services. We have gained international recognition
for our expertise.
 But
our vision is not limited to the extraction and processing
of natural resources. In 1971 Adamson and Associates became
the first Associate Office of Hill & Knowlton, Inc., then
the world's largest and most diversified international public
relations/public affairs counseling firm. For nearly 25 years,
working with H&K, we represented the Utah and Intermountain
interests of many Fortune 500 companies. Locally, WSA has
represented financial institutions; a broad range of industrial,
engineering, construction and manufacturing companies; a variety
of associations, organizations and corporations; and a host
of other diversified clients.
In our continuing work with a variety of clients, we are proficient
in many disciplines, including investor relations, crisis
management, media relations, disaster planning-training-recovery
plans, special events management, the design and construction
of exhibits and visitors centers, both general and technical
news writing and placement, corporate and marketing brochures,
the production of video presentations for many audiences,
annual and quarterly reports, strategy and tactical planning.
Our public communication strengths lie in the maturity, the depth and breadth of experience our seven-member staff offers. Our staff brings professional experience in broadcast news, daily newspaper writing, research and writing material for industry and technical publications, and production of corporate newsletters. Our staff has extensive experience in legislative work and the government permitting processes.
At the core of our work is research. No task in undertaken
without the detailed research to identify, isolate and evaluate
those forces, both public and private, which do, or may influence
the public perception of our client. Those influences include
employees, the community at large, government officials, educators,
business leaders and, above all, the client's customers.
At the same time, we continually track the responses to our
work and report the results to our clients.
W.S. Adamson and Associates, Inc. celebrated its 50th anniversary
in 2000 and continues to be one of the most respected and
influential corporate communications counseling firms in Utah
and the Intermountain area. We adhere to our own internally
developed strict code of ethics, as well as abide by the stringent
ethics of the Public Relations Society of America.
