Since 1950, the Adamson Team has organized, managed
and produced a very broad range of special events,
large and small.
Special events have
included:
- The 2003 Centennial Celebration, with a variety of
commemorative pieces, including a special copper
coin in a ten-panel history; placards; banners;
employee open house inside the Bingham Canyon
Mine with a magazine-sized pictorial history and
sourvenir family group photographs; a special
chapter in a university text book, and coordinated
national media exposure.
- Design, development
and project coordination of the award-winning
Visitors Center at the Bingham Canyon Mine.
- Ceremonies for facility
dedications.
- Press tours of all
operating facilities.
- Tours of facilities
for government officials.
- Dinners, luncheons
and banquets for up to 800 guests at broad range
of indoor and outdoor locations.
- Employee open house
events.
- The staging of two
American Mining Congress tours and related social
functions, including a 1967 64-bus caravan tour
of the mine and a western barbecue for 4,500 guests.
The above events included the
development, planning and management of such facets as
transportation logistics; tour guide narration scripts;
entertainment; food catering; sound systems; photo and film
documentation; mementos; lodging, hotel and remote facility
arrangements; security and medical personnel; programs, guide
books and event planning manuals; coordination and integration
with all Kennecott personnel and vendors.

| EVENT: |
For the
Trailblazer Pipeline Corporation, a national press conference
and dedication ceremonies for an 800-mile natural gas pipeline
at remote Whitney Canyon, Wyoming.
Assignment
included:
- Design and development of
staging area the size of two football fields.
- Procurement of 40'x100' circus
tent and assorted 20'x20' canopies.
- Procurement of and permanent
placement of seven flagpoles.
- Procurement of all support
facilities, including portable toilets, electricity
generators, water supplies, tables and chairs, etc.
- Procurement of entertainment
(two bands) and rehearsals.
- Logistics planning for the
arrival of 34 aircraft in a single day; scheduling and
routing of six-bus caravan for 126-mile trip from Salt Lake
City to Whitney Canyon; construction of three helicopter
pads and marking of parking area at the site; arrangements
for security and medical personnel en route to, and at the
site.
- Design and production of
special floral arrangements; custom music tapes; banquet
arrangements (Marriott Hotel).
- Media backgrounders and
advance briefings.

| EVENT: |
For
NewVector Communications, the development and management of a
cut-in ceremony to introduce cellular mobile telephone
technology and service to Utah, which would attract the
interest and active participation of the governor, city,
county and state officials, law enforcement agencies, and
various important communications industry leaders and the
media.
Assignments included:
- Design and supervision of site
aesthetics development and construction.
- Procurement of food and
beverage services and decorators.
- Development and printing of
invitations and invitation list.
- Liaison with the governor's
office and arrangements for his appearance at the ceremony.
He placed the first call from an automobile to Rio de
Janeiro.
- Liaison with media that
resulted in substantial coverage, including two days of
radio traffic reports using a cellular phone. Results
surpassed similar events held in Phoenix, Denver, Seattle
and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

| EVENT: |
75th
Anniversary Celebration: Included in the celebration was the
writing, design and production of a keepsake historical
brochure; writing, design and production of a facilities
brochure; design and production of commemorative belt buckle
and key chains; arrangements for special Board of Directors
tour and overnight stay at Bonanza, Utah; creation of day-long
party with lunch and dinner for 400 employees and guests at
Bonanza; media relations.
Bonanza assignments
included:
- Designing and creating
festive, gala atmosphere at the remote eastern Utah desert
location.
- Procurement of
entertainment.
- Procurement of tables, chairs
and sound systems to be delivered from Salt Lake
City.
- Procurement of food services
(including menu selection) to be delivered from Salt Lake
City.
- Design and printing of
invitations.
- Photo documentation of all
events.
- Management and supervision of
all facets of the celebration.

ROYAL AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION |
| EVENT: |
Groundbreaking ceremony for Roy Marketplace Plaza
shopping center in Roy, Utah.
Assignment
included:
- Creation of groundbreaking
concept, which would attract media attention and a
significant number of dignitaries and the general
public.
- Rather than traditional
routine of breaking ground with shovel, we developed the
concept of having a model of the shopping center created on
a 100-pound, 4'x8'x2" cake. Dignitaries used toy shovels to
"break ground" in the parking lot area of the model.
- Media backgrounders were
conducted in advance of the event, combined with a series of
advance news releases.
- Liaison with community
leaders, vendors and the media.
- Writing, design and printing
of invitations.
- Site preparation included the
erection of a 40'x40' canopied area complete with chairs,
tables and sound facilities, and outlining the perimeter of
the proposed shopping center with yellow, helium-filled
balloons.

| EVENTS: |
Management of and assistance with Annual Conventions
held in St. George, Park City and Salt Lake
City.
Assignments included:
- Development of convention
themes and design of related convention logos, advance
promotional materials, programs and support signage.
- Assistance with the selection
and booking of speakers appropriate to the convention
themes.
- Design and creation of
thematic decorations and aesthetics.
- Design, engineering and
operation of special sound systems.
- Design of special lighting
requirements.
- Auditioning and procurement of
entertainment.
- Floor plan design for daily
sessions and evening functions.
- Media liaison and relations
and reporting to media from the sites.
